1When it happens and what it pays
Every block whose height divides exactly by 10,080 is a lottery block. Divi aims for one block a minute, and 10,080 minutes is one week, so there is a draw about once a week. Block 4,263,840 paid out on 18 October 2026, and block 4,273,920 is the next one.
From every block, 50 DIVI goes into the lottery pot, so a full week fills it with 504,000 DIVI. The lottery block pays it all out at once:
| Place | Prize |
|---|---|
| First | 252,000 DIVI, half the pot |
| Second to eleventh | 25,200 DIVI each, a tenth of the other half |
There is no draw to enter and nothing to buy. The prizes are paid inside the lottery block itself, and every node checks that the block pays exactly these amounts to exactly the right winners. A block that pays anyone else is rejected.
2How you get a ticket
Tickets come from staking. Each time a wallet stakes a block, the node adds up what that stake paid back to the staking address, meaning the coin that staked plus its reward. If the total is more than 10,000 DIVI, the stake is a ticket for the next draw.
- One stake, one ticket. A wallet that stakes more often gets more tickets. Estimate your stakes shows how often that is for your balance.
- Keep coins above 10,000. A stake from a coin of 3,000 DIVI earns its normal reward but is not a ticket. If you split your coins, keep each piece above 10,000 DIVI. Split and combine coins shows how.
- Only staking wallets take part. You need a wallet that stakes, such as IronDivi, Divi Desktop or BoxWallet. The web, extension and Telegram wallets cannot stake, so coins held there never get tickets. Stake in a wallet covers the setup.
- Vaults count too. A stake from a vault is a ticket under the same rule, and a vault's prize goes to the vault.
10,000 DIVI is the default in the node source. The network can change it with a spork, a signed setting the whole network follows. The October 2026 draw replayed below matches the 10,000 rule exactly.
3How the winners are picked
These are the rules the Divi node enforces, read from its C++ source:
- Every ticket gets a score. The node hashes the stake's transaction ID together with the hash of the last lottery block. Nobody knows that block's hash until it exists, so nobody can aim for a good score.
- The highest eleven scores win. After each block the node sorts the tickets by score and keeps the top eleven. When the lottery block arrives, those eleven are paid. Rank 0, the highest score, takes first prize.
- One prize per address. If one address holds two top-eleven tickets, only its best counts, so eleven different addresses are paid.
- Winners sit out three draws. An address that won in any of the last three lottery blocks cannot win this time. Its stakes still earn rewards, they just are not tickets.
- The list starts again. After each lottery block, the list is empty and the next week's tickets start to fill it.
Every ticket has the same chance. What differs is how many tickets you hold, so in the end the lottery is weighted by how much you stake, like staking itself.
4A real draw
To check these rules we downloaded every block from lottery block 4,253,760 to lottery block 4,263,840 and replayed the draw ourselves:
- 10,069 stakes paid more than 10,000 DIVI back to their staker.
- 1,631 of them came from addresses that had won in one of the last three draws, so they were not tickets.
- The top eleven of the rest, after trimming repeat addresses, were exactly the eleven addresses block 4,263,840 paid, in the same order.
Here is that draw. The score column shows the first eight hex digits of each score. Two addresses joined by a colon are a vault. Rank 0 won 252,000 DIVI and the other ten won 25,200 each.

You can see the same list yourself. The list at block 4,263,839, the block just before the draw, is what the lottery block paid:

-H 'content-type: application/json' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"1.0","id":1,"method":"getlotteryblockwinners","params":[4263839]}'
Leave the number out to see who is in the top eleven right now. Find the lottery winners explains the output and how to check a single address.
5How a win shows in your wallet
The prize is paid inside the lottery block, which someone else staked. Different wallets label it differently:
| Where | What you see |
|---|---|
| The C++ node, which Divi Desktop runs | The node's listtransactions gives it the category lottery. |
| IronDivi | IronDivi labels every payment from a stake transaction stake, so a lottery win looks like a stake. The amount, 252,000 or 25,200, gives it away. |
| Address history download | An IN row on a block whose height divides by 10,080, with the block's staker in Other Address. Staking rewards and taxes shows a real one. |
Like any staking reward, the prize has to wait 20 blocks, about 20 minutes, before you can spend it.
